Fast, Thorough and Honest WDO Inspections.
A wood-destroying organism (WDO) inspection, commonly referred to as a termite inspection, helps ensure the life of your home is protected from the threat of termites (subterranean and dry wood). During our inspection, we look for evidence of an infestation, wood decay, wood-devouring beetles, as well as evidence of pest infestations, damage to wood, or conditions conducive to infestation; and evidence of past treatments.
Safeline Home Inspections owner, Corey Richardson, is a licensed WDO inspector in the state of Florida. Safeline Home Inspections is proud to offer WDO inspections through Ameripro Pest Control.
Do I need a WDO inspection if my lender doesn't require it?
YES! Your home is likely the largest investment you will ever make. Would you buy a $175,000 car without having a mechanic inspect it first? Our WDO inspections are as good as it gets. With Safeline on your side you become a well-informed buyer with all of the facts BEFORE closing on your home. Even though the WDO inspection may not be required by your lender, it serves as a bargaining chip for you when it comes down to the final offer.
What should I do if termites are found?
If termites or other WDO's are found during your inspection; the inspector will recommend having any damaged wood repaired or replaced and the house should be treated properly. This is often an expense that can be negotiated with the seller to perform at their expense that ranges from $600 to $1500. The actual treatment needed will vary depending on the type of WDO that was found. After, all damaged wood has been repaired or replaced, and treatment has been performed. A re-inspection will be needed in order to issue a clear WDO report.
WHY IS SAFELINE'S WDO INSPECTION BETTER THAN OTHER PEST CONTROL COMPANIES?
This is a great question. Safeline Home Inspections offers a 3rd party, non-biases WDO inspection report. That means that you can feel good about getting an honest inspection report. Did you know that most pest control WDO inspectors are actually salespeople? They are looking to sell you a service and that can lead to bias. Safeline will not try to sell you any kind of pest control service. Also, all of our WDO inspection reports are just more detailed and come with a photo journal that shows you color pictures of our findings.
